New HD helmet cam at 720p 60fps. Removed the visor on my helmet and mounted the camera on the front of the helmet so that the helmet would not be in the video.

I Got major Cabin Fever with this bike Snow Storm. So, I put together a Best of Video from 2009. I did 6 SMJ Local Rides, from Deleware to South Carolina and inbetween. I see a lot of other members posting up their vids and opinions, so I thought I’d share mine.

After a long wait… Santa finally brought me a GoPro HD Hero Wide. I wanted to do a little test, so I took the dog to the boat launch and mounted it to my helmet. Sorry for the spots on the lens… it was crappy out.

The worst I’ve found with my GoPro is using the 1080P footage in Final Cut Pro. I’m a professional editor with the latest version of Final Cut on a MacBook Pro with 3GB of Ram and dual processors and it still had problems with the 1080P. I used Quicktime Pro to export the clips with apple intermediate codec then imported that file into FCP. It worked fine after that and I was able to edit the footage. It’s time consuming and a pain, but the quality is amazing! FCP didn’t have problems handling any of the other formats. It doesn’t shoot well in low lighting… such as indoors. It doesn’t take stills very well inside either, causing blur in 85% of the pics taken. I found that using the 3 shots at once feature to work best, as it adjusts correctly by the 2nd and 3rd pic. I did a quick under water test off the end of my dock this afternoon and was very impressed with the footage. I can’t wait to get it mounted to my jet ski in the spring!

It was a great day (Sat), I have to commend "Fastrack Riders" They run a tight ship, and have some great instructors. The Novice Riders Course was worth every penny!

KTM also happen to have a Demo Day there, and I got to ride the Amazing RC8 R on the Track!!!! That thing was bad ass!
It’s on my list of things to buy. I better start playing the lottery!

I had some good laps, and some laps where I was at a slower pace practicing techniques. At the end I thought I blew past the exit at the end of the session and had a Brain Fart… You’ll see… I think my best lap time was 1.58 sec. Not bad for my first time on this track (second track day).

here’s the finally finished video from round 1 i never got done till last night. i had put together a dvd today to play on the tv’s at the banquet but it turned out they couldn’t play a dvd so oh well.

i lost some stuff on my now dead laptop, but i had enough on back-up to make this one last minute. its got alot of the now infamous sherpa/hypermotard battle.

Hope this helps give an honest comparison, i believe it to be. Note that the Contour HD is twice as much as the other cameras, costing 250. Still cheap if you think about it.

THIS IS ONBOARD IN THE F2 SEMRA CLASS.

FYI, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT RUNNING THE DIRT JUMPS, THESE TWO GUYS WOULD HAVE TURNED LAP TIMES FASTER THAN 3/4 OF THE SUPERMOTO BIKES.

THE LEADER IS ON A CRF50 BASED BIKE AND THE ONBOARD IS A KX 65.
