I bought all of these bits to fit to my Duke. As you can see from the pics – I fitted them but with the exception of taking the bike around the block – didn’t ride any further. Doing so without a custom Tuneboy map and would’ve wrecked my engine. The intention was to buy Tuneboy but I am not planning on doing that now so these parts are not needed.
If anyone here is interested in buying these as a package – send me a private message with an offer.

Hey guys, I’ve been lurking here for a while but haven’t posted much.

Anyway I just purchased a DRZ 400 off of craigslist a few weeks ago. It had the normal list of mods, the best of which was the FCR carb (big plus for me). So needless to say I ended up buying the bike and put some around town as well as highway miles on it before I parked it in my garage. Never having ridden a thumper or any 4stroke with a vacuum or FCR carb I thought it was pretty snappy compared to what I have read about the stock Mikuni (read thought it had FCR).

Fast forward to now as I’m disassembling the bike to do my usual tinkering.Now imagine my surprise when I find out the carb is the stock Mikuni :wtf:. Now I need some advice/ideas on what I should do about this. He told me that the guy he purchased the bike off of did all the mechanical mods; I think this is believable since the person that I bought it from could barely take the license plate off.

I’m planning on giving him a call tomorrow to find out what up. Any advice on what I should say? I plan on playing dumb for a little bit and try to get the Previous Previous Owners phone number or see if he says anything fishy. But if I can’t get that should I start to play hard ball? Is there anything tangible I can threaten him with so I can try to get some compensation or anything??

I’d imagine I’m up the creek since there was nothing signed or written down about modifications in the bill of sale.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a full exhaust system….am wondering if anyone would be interested in buying my OEM gutted cans.

The bike is an ‘06 625 SMC……. has 3,000 miles and is show-room new…… the cans were gutted by the previous owner —- he did an excellent job and it looks factory…… the cans are also in perfect condition….. Not a mark on them….

I want to upgrade to get a little more power (from the Akro header)….. and to have sound controllable inserts — ride to work, quiet baffle…..track day — no baffle.

My bike has the JD jet kit, gutted cans, w/ the air box lid removed….. did a dyno run yesterday and it did 57 hp….. (BTW — his dyno ALWAYS reads high) The nice thing though was —- had another guy with the same ‘06 KTM that did the runs back to back (I wasn’t even going to do any dyno runs….until he had his sitting there…couldn’t resist to see the difference)….. he had the NON-drilled stockers on…. my bike produced an even 3-4 hp ACROSS the entire RPM range. Its a well worth addition……(assuming you have the JD jet kit and it is jetted right)
