my first race back in ‘07: carnage pics
a guy sent me some pics he found from a local race back in ‘07. it was my first ever competition and conditions were, well… interesting
for the record, in heat race 1 I went down every single lap :laughingr. heat race 2 was more fun, track marshals finally got the hint that the little piece of tarmac right after the offroad section that was covered in en inch of mud could use some cleaning up, so they got a little dozer to scrape away the dirt which helped A LOT!
at the end of the day I needed 30 minutes of constant jet washing to get all the hardened mud off my bike. my catch can was lost in a big chunk of dirt

Bike Week Race
Us northern people would like to see a race happen during bike week. Something like what happened last year at Starke only during the week so we have something to do before flat track, superbikes, and supercross on the weekends. Say maybe on Wed. Larry…….. can you help some brothers out???????? -
The new race bike
This bike was built for a one-off race at the US Open in Las Vegas for a local kid that was picked up by Yamaha. He was on a Suzuki for 09 for the supercross season and since that season officially ended and Yamaha picked him up for 2010, he needed a bike for one race, the US Open, before he gets a 2010 FI 450. So its an 09 YZ450F built to the hilt, hi comp piston, suspension done, etc. I’ll be using it for playing in the dirt and Supermoto racing. Alot cheaper than running a supersport 600 to build and crash

Looks like a Yamaha commercial… 09 YZ450, 07 TTR230, 05 TTR 125L, 03 TTR 125 and the lone Priller.

All the supermoto parts… slipper clutch, brembo brakes, and Excel wheels… waiting on slicks

First STTARS race
Maybe a dumb question, but I am planning on participating in the STTARS race at Grange Nov. 14/15. I’ve talked to a few forks, but haven’t got the needed info. I basically have no racing experience(I’ve been riding sm for a year or so) and I don’t know what to expect. And also I don’t know how and what to do once I register/sign up. And does anyone camp onsite? Any info would be much appreciated. Sean -

I got my First Supermoto Race
Hi everyone, I should have post these earlier but I havent got time this week. These pictures are from İzmir, Turkey. This was my first race in supermoto and I have got 2 motocross races before.
On the left its me with the 30 number CRF450R 2008 and on the right Cengiz and his 79 number CRF450R 2009 bike. We were like honda team
we went from İstanbul to İzmir together it takes 8-9 hour driving.

this is me on the qualifying.

This is Ata on the number 10 with ktm. He is really talented and best in Turkey. He has been riding motocross since he was kid and now doing sm and mx both and he was going like crazy

I fell down on qualifying Im not very used to do back it in’s so I lost control of the rear tire.

So here some of the superstock racers, they also got the race that weekend.

Me at the back with 30 number :Funny: after I fell in qualifying and was learning the track newly I wasnt second last on start. But I got awesome shot in start and pass 3 guys and get in to the 5th position

A cool picture of me
So these are the some pictures. It was really fun. After motocross it was really easy and fun I loved it but I also learned something too
NEVER EVER RIDE SUPERMOTO WITH MX GEAR!!! ITS REALLY PAINFUL WHEN YOU FALL.
I fell on the race while I was going on 4th gear with full speed on a big turn. I was leaning like supersport guys and some how my front tired slipped away, I wasnt accelerating or slowing down. I think my tire was old like 2 years, it wasnt finished but it got dried or something like that which occurs not sticky enough tires.
So anyway I felt down and slided all the way to the grasses on my but and my pants ripped of and my left butt injured badly. It is still in not very great condition. It has bandaged on it.
So you guys never ever ride supermoto with mx gear. Always get leather suit
Also racing is expensive and demanding but its much much more fun than riding on the streets.
I sold my DRZ and got CRF450R for racing and Im glade to done that

Charity Race to Benefit Prostate Cancer Research
Hey guys,
As some of you may or may not know my father is dying of prostate cancer. Rather than focus on the negative I’d like to channel my energy into something positive and I am going to put on an invitational event in Oregon to entirely benefit prostate cancer research. There are all kinds of events and groups for other kinds of cancer but not much for prostate cancer. Hopefully this will kind of hit home with everyone because literally any of us guys can become victims. I am still researching to find a worthy cause to benefit from the proceeds of this event. So far what I am envisioning is a invitational pro class with select amatuer support classes. I am wanting to make it a 2 day event so that it is worth everyones while to make the trip and get in as much riding as possible. I am trying to target a date that is late spring/ early summer. This event is in the very begining stages, and as things become for concrete I will keep updating. I am hoping to hold the event at P.A.R.C. (Pat’s Acres Racing Complex) in Canby Oregon. This is a very scenic venue and is my personal favorite place to ride. There have been Supermoto USA/ Nasmoto/ Oregon Superbikers events held there in the past. The facility is really great and is operated by a great family. Anyhow, I know it is really early to commit to anything but any of you riders that are interested in participating for a good cause please hit me up. If I have a pretty good list of people in attendance it will help me pitch this event to sponsors for it. Thanks in advance to everyone that may be interested in being involved.- Jeremy Kendall -

I’ve been talking to a few places and before I get too involved I need to know how far from the DC area (since that’s where the majority of y’all come from) you are willing to drive to race.
I’m just looking East, West & South since going North there are already good tracks within driving range. -

Race Stand Spools with Sliders?
Just wondering if anyone out there has made/bought rear axle sliders that have integrated or incorporated spools for a standard rear race stand.I heard on the grapevine somewhere that SME was going to make these but I haven’t seen anything on their site.
Mine’s a DRZ SM btw, but I’d like to see everything I can to formulate some ideas.

NJ MiniGP’s Endurance/Benifit Race Nov 7th…Teaming up for Tommy!!!
This is a fundraiser/benifit race for one of our coaches nephew who has been stricken with a form of cancer. All donations and proceeds will be donated to help fight the battle against this horrible disease. Now everyone get ready to have some fun!!!
:D The Team challenge is now set. NOVEMBER 7th Here are the rules…..
First off each team MUST have 4 riders. If you cant get a team of 4 give me a call (732-966-4176)we might have other teams looking for riders.
The cost is going to $75.00 PER rider which includes your teams transponder and 4 hours of practice in the morning.
The race will start at 12:30.Tech will open at 7:30 and riders meeting at 8:30.You don’t have to have a child on your team.
As for the bike you can use 2 bikes NSR and an F2 class bike. F2 is wheel size no smaller than 12” 65cc 2 stroke, 150cc air cooled 4 stroke, and 130cc liquid cooled 4 stroke.
You MUST have a name for your team so put some thought into it. Here is how the day should go: 4 hour race first 2 hours run clockwise on the avenger. The start will be an old school Le Mans start we will go over that at the race meeting. The 2nd half will be run counter clockwise on the avenger. NO rider can ride for more then 30 minutes at one time. You must pit out and change rider. We will start the 2nd half of race on how your team stands in the first stint of the race. During each 2 hour stint you will have 1 mandatory pit stop which during that pit stop you CAN NOT change rider and you must top off your fuel. During fuel stops the rider must be off bike and bike not running.
SIMPLE:The team with the most laps in the 4 hours is our winner!!!:bannana:We also will be able to rent the Karts during this event the cost for them is $25.00 per 15min track session. You must be 12yrs old to ride them and at least 5 ft. tall.
Please bring as many people as you can to this event as its for a great cause. Oh ya bring plenty of fuel. Any questions don’t hesitate to give me a call.
Thank you and I hope to see you there!

Who wants to race with WMRRA October 3rd?
If there is enough interest from the local Supermoto community, I will petition the board to recognize SMUSA licenses for the weekend of October 3rd and 4th. There is one class on Saturday that is perfect for SM’s (Open Single),and another class on Sunday that any Supermoto will be outgunned but the bike is legal for (Lightweight Superbike).
The tech requirements are a bit more stringent, but basically beyond a belly pan (9X13 steel cake pan) it’s almost what PGP requires. Basics are below:Safety wire requirements:
Axles (front and rear)
front pinch bolts
brake caliper bolts
radiator cap
oil fill and drain(s)
exhaust hanger bolts (any bolt in the exhaust system excluding the manifold bolts)
safety wire around master link (or rivet chain link)Miscellaneous:
crankcase vent routed to a catch bottle or a plugged airbox
no lights or mirrors
wheel weights taped over
metal valve stem capsGear:
Full one piece or two piece zip together (full circumference zipper) leathers
Back protector
DOT or SNELL 2000 helmet
Gloves and bootsI know that it seems nit-picky, but the rules are there for a reason. maybe not a great one, but we all follow them. I will be more than happy to assist in the safety prep of any SM bike, just let me know and we can get it rolling.
Let me know, here or offline, if you are interested in running and I will approach the Executive Board and see if we can recognize alternate licenses. It would be great to get a grid full of idiots to bang bars on the big track, just remember to gear the bike appropriately…
Also, if anyone is interested I will have the YZ at the Adrenaline Freaks trackday Friday the 2nd, testing out my big track gearing. Come on out and play along, it’s great fun. If you sign up, make sure to mention my name, as I get a bit of a discount the more riders that I get involved with Adrenaline Freaks.
Thanks, and see you at the track!

NJ MiniGP Round #5 final race this Sunday……Brought to you by Powersportstore!
That’s right our final race is coming up this Sunday at NJMP and the points chase is very tight in many classes. :bannana: Just 8 points separate the top 3 kids who are all riding at such an incredible level.:clap:This race is being sponsored by Tom over at Powersports store and should be quite the season finale. www.powersportsstore.com
We will be running on the infamous Liberator which is the great equalizer. High HP bikes and light riders have less of an advantage as the Liberator is much more technical.:D
Hope to see everyone out at the track this Sunday for the best racing in the area.:coffee:

Anyone ever run Michelin Pilot Power Race on their Sumo…
…..Like the title says…..Has anyone ever run Michelin Pilot Power Race’s on their Sumo?
Just curious about warm up time…. and if a SUMO would generate enough heat to make them work properly. (did you have to use tire warmers…..or were a couple laps enough to get them going….)
What tire pressures were you running…..(COLD PSI)
BTW — Have tired the Pirelli SuperCorsa Pros….and REALLY liked them.
——– Have a Road-Race track-day coming up…..
