  • wr250x underseat exhaust………

Well I made another under seat dual exhaust set up, since its snowing like crazy here.

It’s not perfect, I’m not a master fabricator or anything, but its very unique. I’m looking for a good home for it and someone to critique it and give me some feed back on what they think of it. it’s brand new. I rode a few miles with it to make sure it was good to go. Ive been running the same setup on my stunt bike all year.

Bolts up to the stock header pipe, with a small amount of modification to subframe required. I’m including a combination brake and running tail light, but you are on your own for blinkers and license plate mounting.

I’m going to sell it for $375 shipped in the US, Thats my cost on materials for everything.

let me know what you guys think?

PM me if you want it!

  • Easy exhaust question???

I have not seen a definite answer anywhere here, sooo… If i put on an FMF Q4 slip-on, do I lose the exup? ie: how long is the tail on the Q4? If the exup goes away, and you use the delete module, is there any negative effects? I see some people welding the exup back into their aftermarket pipes. I don’t plan on changing the head pipe for a while. Although, if the exup is gone with the slip-on, I might just do it then as well. I will also do a basic programer as well at that point. Any thoughts from people just running the FMF Q4? Thanks guys!

  • Black or carbon exhaust guards on SMC?

I’m really tempted to get some carbon exhaust guards for my SMC. I think the silver sticks out too much. Or I could just paint them black- but that’ll probably scratch up.

KTM hard parts has them for $300 :o uch:

Also found these for $146 plus shipping from a site sponsor:

  • (Pics!) New Scorpion Carbon Fiber Exhaust

This took over 6 weeks to arrive in the mail but I finally got it hooked up.

The look and sound is awesome! Note the straight shot through the inside…

It’s loud but not as extreme as others are making it seem. It’s definitely a much deeper tone than the stock exhaust which gives a pretty good feeling of power when you rev the bike up.

This should help out down here in Houston where drivers don’t tend use their eyes too much while driving (…or their brains for that matter). The added exhaust note should alert some drivers of my presence and keep those assholes from changing lanes right where I happen to be driving.

    MORE PICTURES COMING SOON.

  • Rusty stock exhaust pipe

I tried a search for rust and rusty exhaust but no luck. I just picked up a drz and the part of the pipe that comes from the head then bends into a ‘u’ (header pipe?) is a little brown and rusty looking.
Besides replacing or wrapping it, is there a way to properly clean it or is this just a normal thing for a drz that’s gone into some mud and water?
    Thanks!!!

  • Stock Exhaust Noise

In the past I thought it was just me, but today I’m ready to say it’s not me. I’ve been finding that during a ride on the 550 it just gets louder and louder as I ride. Just got back from a ride and my ears are ringing. Really not looking for a fix or " wear ear plugs " just curious if it really is getting loud and why ? Oddest thing I ever experienced with a bike. lol. No gaps that I can see hot or cold. :headscrat

  • Some exhaust questions (wr250x)

    Hello,

I?m new at the forum, And I will like to know if anyone has the FMF powerbomb header with the yoshimura muffler?, I read on the yoshimura website that with only the yoshimura muffler you can see 2.2 rwhp gains.

And the other doubt is, anyone her has the graves full exhaust system?, I?m wondering what are the differences between this one and the FMF (I know the price) but in performance.

    Thanks, cheers.

  • My SMR510 with a Leo Vince exhaust from an FZ1? YEP!

Long story short… had an extra Leo Vince carbon fiber exhaust from my 2007 FZ1 laying around (LV-7661) and I’m sick and tired of the stock exhaust and the fact that LV doesn’t make a slip-on but only a sub $900 full system.
Was sitting in the garage and then it came to me…. so, had to get a 2" long reducer pipe made at my local exhaust shop and it mounted right up with no problems. Had to take the rivets out of the back and flip the end cap around so that the exhaust doesn’t go under the tail, but out instead. Looks a bit funny with the hole outward a bit, but it works good… nice, DEEP note and quite a bit lighter and smaller, but vibrates a bit more. Now my bikes have matching exhausts and it only cost me $5 to have the pipe made.

  • Exhaust choices ‘05 510SMR???

Planning off-season work to do and was thinking about changing my stock exhaust.

    - I don’t want to spend much
    - I just do hooligan riding and the odd track day

…the Arrow seems to have a "silencer" – stupid question but does that just make it quieter?

Are there modification that I can make to the existing muffler?

Basically I would like to uptick performance and get a better "brapp" :)

  • Husqvarna SMR 450 exhaust overheat

    Hello all

I’m relatively new to this forum but have been reading all the great advice on here for a while now. My bike is 2007 Husqvarna smr 450 that we just bought 2nd hand about 2 months ago. The previous owner had a full Akropovic titanium exhaust installed and his local shop re-jetted the carb to suit (no idea what size jets). That’s all that’s been done to the bike as far as I know.

Since buying it, I’ve been running it at the local track doing SM racing in the evenings. I’ve also taken it off-road once for a fairly long trip and a few long-ish street rides with no problems what so ever.

Now I’ve run into a problem with it. I just got back from a street ride during which (about 120km in) the exhaust can got so hot it melted the carbon fiber mounting straps and they started to smoke pretty badly. Since we were in the middle of nowhere, I took the side fairing off to increase airflow and keep it cool until I got it home. This did the job but now the can has a discoloured spot on it that looks like it has been heated badly. Here’s a pic: http://i35.tinypic.com/jg16c4.jpg

The bike has always run slightly rich but nothing terrible.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this now? We’ve ridden it a lot harder on race nights but this medium pace ride did it in. I suspect that I’ve burnt out a section of the exhaust packing and have a hot spot but don’t know what could have caused that to happen. :headscrat

    Cheers

  • XR650L Exhaust headers

    Hi all,

I’m after a set of headers for my NX650 Dominator (same engine as the XR650L).
I found those two on ebay at, what seem to be, decent prices:

FMF Stainless Hi Flo Header 93-08 Honda XR 650 L:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB…FP:MOTORS:1348

    and

FMF S/S Powerbomb Header Pipe 93-08 Honda XR 650 L:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB…FP:MOTORS:1348

My bike is using the cylinder head off a 1987 XR600R. That’s with the twin inlet ports. Will such a set of XR650L headers fit?

Would anyone know what is the difference between the two performance-wise?

I’m also thinking of having headers fabricated by a local specialist (instead of buying brand names).
Has anyone had these made? Is there anything I should be careful of? any rules of thumb?

Thanks in advance for any help and feedback

    Manos

  • SC Project exhaust – any feedback/group buys?

Wondering if anyone out there has tried any of the single SC Project exhausts that are available. I’m specifically interested in the lower version, but info on either would be great. Wondering also if any group buys are going on for exhausts at all. Looking to mainly lose weight on the sm and improve sound, if possible. Thanks.

  • SMC Exhaust

Okay i know this has been touched on before but i need to see some pictures and cant find any. I bought my 2004 SMC 625 and the exhaust can was already shortened but when i went to repack it and took it apart the baffle tube does not attatch the to end cap and does not line up with the bottom cap and has blown all of the packing out because of this. does anyone have pictures from a 2004 because the internals are different from all the great write ups on the 05 and ups. I really cant afford a new slip on and this set up will not work. If i can figure out if i can modify it to work that would be great but its not looking good. Please help

We have posted clearance pricing on many Akrapovic EVO and RACING full exhaust systems on our web site. Most of the exhausts are sportbike exhausts, but there are a few SM/MX systems in there too. (no KTM). Exhausts that only a few months ago sold for $1800 are now on sale for just $900. Smoking deals on these while supplies last.

  • yz450 dual exhaust question

I am just brainstorming, thinking about getting a spare frame for my yzf to swap in a 2t engine (rd or banshee most likely). Has anyone done/seen/heard of anyone using the numberplates and rear fender off of a crf250 with dual exhaust? I am wondering if I could use just those parts with some slight subframe modification or if it would be possible to use the whole seat, plates, and rear fender. Like I said, just brainstorming and if anything happens it wont be for a while. I know its going to take a lot of frame work and most likely custom pipes, just thinking a about how to make it look decent.
