It snowed yesterday but I decided to go anyway, 40F and warming up to 50F in the valley
my yard is a mess

I went this way before – Happy Valley

What I wanted to do was to find the connection between Happy Valley, Grizzley Flat and Fairplay
Here’s a map of the area. Even though google shows no way, I had a feeling that some dort roads might go thru
looking down

first bridge

second bridge – still in Happy Valley

crossing to the Grizzly Flat wasn’t too bad (map)
going further down was the part that didn’t connect according to google maps
locals had the same opinion

the road was pretty goaty and slick, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to take the same way back

found the bridge and the connection to the other side of the valley. I went from 3000ft down to 2000ft to cross the river and then back up to 3000ft

it was a good day, I wish I had taken more pictures but it was hard to stop on slick down/uphills, only ate dirt once with no damage

Not me, but just found it and thought it was pretty cool.

New HD helmet cam at 720p 60fps. Removed the visor on my helmet and mounted the camera on the front of the helmet so that the helmet would not be in the video.

I Got major Cabin Fever with this bike Snow Storm. So, I put together a Best of Video from 2009. I did 6 SMJ Local Rides, from Deleware to South Carolina and inbetween. I have to thank all the fellas that put the rides together, the locations were great, and the people that came out to each ride were all stand-up Supermoto Junkies….. Me and my friend were making a photo-shoot for a magazine, i made a stoppie and the guy drove from the back and didn’t see me stop as it was an "S" turn and there were trees, he almost ended up crashing into me or the trees. the bike owners were shocked

After a long wait… Santa finally brought me a GoPro HD Hero Wide. I wanted to do a little test, so I took the dog to the boat launch and mounted it to my helmet. Sorry for the spots on the lens… it was crappy out.

The worst I’ve found with my GoPro is using the 1080P footage in Final Cut Pro. I’m a professional editor with the latest version of Final Cut on a MacBook Pro with 3GB of Ram and dual processors and it still had problems with the 1080P. I used Quicktime Pro to export the clips with apple intermediate codec then imported that file into FCP. It worked fine after that and I was able to edit the footage. It’s time consuming and a pain, but the quality is amazing! FCP didn’t have problems handling any of the other formats. It doesn’t shoot well in low lighting… such as indoors. It doesn’t take stills very well inside either, causing blur in 85% of the pics taken. I found that using the 3 shots at once feature to work best, as it adjusts correctly by the 2nd and 3rd pic. I did a quick under water test off the end of my dock this afternoon and was very impressed with the footage. I can’t wait to get it mounted to my jet ski in the spring!

Well we went out…

Met up with Hein at 10.30 and it started raining.

Thought we’d slug it out and get to Boxhill.

Got there and Pete turned up, nice to see you mate, as its been ages!!!

Then headed off and did lots of laning!!!

Did Leith Hill, then Cold Harbour, then found a new lane at the end of cold harbour. Also met two guys at the end of cold harbour, one on a 990 ADV and one on an XT, who seemed a little shocked about our tyre choice!!

Down the A25 to Shere and out the back of shere and down to Farley green where we did 3 more lanes before heading up to Newlands.

All in all a really good day, lanes were HARD but not as wet as i expected!!!

Met the owners and crew and they are great group of guys and are really willing to make this facility work out

I have to say that this place is well worth the trip
it took 8hrs to get there but we did break up the drive stopping in Palm springs , Phoenix "Heart Attack Grill" and then a straight shot to Wilcox

Track is awesome and i would say its a 600cc and lower friendly with some sections tighter then SOW and the rest of it Buttonwillowish , elevation changes like no other track i have been on
So much fun on a Tard only place i got passed is the Main straight

Accommodations at the track are similar to Pahrump
with a few porta potties in the pits and full service bathrooms in the lounge/BBQ area , nice viewing area and a full wet bar :thumbup:

I heard they might add some Air fencing around some areas and the Garages will be built soon , as of right now to get to the track its a 9 mile or so dirt road
but will be paved soon .
