610 Speedo Problem …
Haven’t really got a big problem but when i go over 85 mph my speedo on my 08′ 610 (UK) goes to 0 mph yet when i dip under 85 mph it shows up again as 84, 83 etc..Not really a major problem but i have no idea how fast im going sometimes which is slightly annoying. I had an 06 610 that i got 110 out of on a steep hill a while back so i know it can get up a fair pace.
:headscrat Any ideas? :headscrat
p.s. just before going to zero (i.e. between 84 and 86 ish?) i get random numbers up like 60 , 45 , 26 , 14 , 5 and then zero. Any help will be much appreciated!

rotax 250 two-stroke?
I’m not exactly asking about a supermoto but,I’ve found a 99 ATK 250 2-stroke, NJ street title for pretty cheap, sub $1000.
I’ve been looking for a cheap 2 stroke trail/enduro type bike. Should I just hold out for a KTM 200/250 EXC, or Jap bike?
I’ve heard a lot of people say the rotax engines are very solid. But the bikes are more maintenance intensive then a Jap bike. Its a fraggin 2-stroke, how maintenance intensive can it be?
If anyone know anything about these bikes, please let me know.
Thanks -
Music on the road
So I love to have a little music while I’m riding (not blaring of course I can ride safely and hear what’s going on around me) and I was wondering what you guys suggest or use in your helmets.
Here is something I found recently because I’m tired of using the wired headphones for the iPhone and having to fish them from my inside pocket, up the gear, and into my helmet. -

Bartlett 3/1/09 Ride Report
Ended up being three of us: 450XSM (myself) on a CRF450X, motomike88 also on a CRF450X and motoak45 on KLX250SF.
Great weather, hit a high of about 84 degrees that day but a lot cooler when you make your own breeze.
Left my house in Glendale at 9:00am and headed eastward picking the other two up at 9:15 in a shopping center by their apartment complex. Hit up a gas station close by and ran through a couple of neighborhoods to warm up the tires. Caught Cave Creek Road north and endured the long boring stretch (20 miles?) into the town of Cave Creek/Carefree proper. For a good part of it we were caught up in traffic behind a Harley group which we pulled around as soon as we could. We need more riders so our numbers match theirs!
In Cave Creek proper ya gotta slow down to 25 or 35 in spots to not attract attention so they got a good first look at the little Western tourist town since both of them just moved to AZ. Hit Bartlett Dam Road out to the lake and proceeded to cut loose on the medium twisty roads a little more appropriate for sportbikes but better than straight. Roads don’t really get fun for SMs until you’re in the lake boundaries and start on the roads that lead through the mountains to the separate coves. Just as we’re starting to get warmed up we fly around a tight corner and encounter three LEO vehicles with gumballs going and I figure we’re busted. Fortunately for us they were busy attending to an auto that had run off the curve and down a small cliff and we all got slowed down enough to not draw personal attention.
Used up more of our tire edges around the lake and then back out to the Dam road and Cave Creek eastward again until it runs out and becomes Seven Springs Road. Now the real fun begins!
Excellent elevation changes, 180 degree u-turns (up and down), hugging the side of the mountains and gloriously twisty! :bike:
The road only lasts about 7 miles before it turns to hard pack dirt, which none of us seemed interested in running this time, so we ran ran it both ways a few times then the hit Sears-Kay Indian Ruin that’s on Seven Springs to rest our behinds. Back out onto Seven Springs for a couple more laps until motoak45 hits reserve. Time to head back home through Cave Creek for gas and hit the Dairy Queen for burgers.• 115 miles total in 6 hours with lots of stops at scenic overlooks and lunch in between for our first outing as a group (all three of us
).
• Nobody went down or got a ticket.
• Motomike88 needs taller gearing.
• KLX250SF uses a lot of gas keeping up with properly geared 450s (but it DOES keep up).Below: 1)Parked at the lake ** 2) New friend sunbathing about 8ft. to the right of our bikes. And yes, he’s alive ** 3)What passes for AZ forest ** 4)mm88 gets his carb internals probed by innocent bystander ** 5)Hittin’ DQ for red meat

Anyone know torque specs for lambda probe on Husky450/510?
Got a bung/plug for my lambda probe today. I’m going to take the lambda probe out and put the plug in. The torque specs aren’t in the owner’s manual(probably in the workshop manual). Does anyone know what the torque specs are for the lambda probe? I’ve checked a table for that size bolt(M18 2.5mm) and I think it should be approx 210 pounds per foot. Is that right?:headscrat -
