Need help!!! from Supermoto Junkie
I need the part number for the non north american plate light. Yeah I’m one of the strange folks who like the plate holder design
that and at $1000 for a violation I’d like to have it as legal as possible. I’ve found the upper and lower tail piece along with the tail/brake light but unlike the ugly NA tail light the euro tail uses a separate license plate light. Oh and I could use the part numbers for the mounting hardware to join the top and bottom pieces.
Ideas? thoughts? anyone have one they want to get rid of?
Thanks,
Mike

Best 17" Fireroad tires? from Supermoto Junkie
I’ve got a ’98 Husaberg FE600E supermoto. The bike came with Michelin Pilot motard race tires 16/63/17 rear 12/60/17 front. Absolutely a blast on pavement, but I can bust my ass just looking at dirt/gravel/grass. I want something that I can explore gravel/dirt fireroads. No mud no big loose hills. Just something that is controlable off the pavement but still grips on road. Oh also cheap. thought about even grooving some cheap (thinking shinko 005) street tires. any thoughts? How about a Sticky tire guide? So lazy asses like me maybe won’t post as often, Sorry. -
SEMRA Starke results and laptimes! from Supermoto Junkie
Are posted on MYlaps.comhttp://www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=391005
We had a great turnout with 56 registered riders for the trackday and full grids for the races Sunday, in spite of the monsoon that blew through. Luckily the weather cleared by lunch and all the feature events were run on a dry track. Although, all of you that have raced at ERS know the grip, even in the wet is phenomenal.
Also, a few guys walked over and looked at the "Top Secret" dirt section for Larry’s event this coming weekend. Looks great. I know Larry has worked very hard on this event, and I hope that you Florida Supermoto riders that have been screaming for a place to ride make an honest effort to attend.

320mm rotor and stock xr650r front wheel from Supermoto Junkie
I am converting my dirt sled to a SM setup with new 17 inch wheels and 320mm front rotor. I want to swap between dirt and street with minimal effort and was wondering what rotor size will fit the stock xr650r front wheel and also be campatible with the newly installed caliper relocator that comes with the SM conversion. I would assume that I would need another 320mm rotor that fits the stock wheel but not sure. Also any info on were to purchase the part I need is appreciated.Pat

So far the forecast looks very favorable for a motard ride this Sunday, 68deg and sunshine. My son and I plan to do a dry run for the upcoming Spring Epic Foothills ride to double check the route and get a better tally of actuall miles and times. We’ll be starting at the Wallymart PL in Brevard, NC at 8:30am and riding the proposed route of approx 200mi and returning to same PL by dark.
Anyone who’d like to join us is more than welcome to and won’t be
forfeiting their chance at the actuall ride in April, you’ll just get a 2fer1 deal.

2001 DRZ400S Good Deal? from Supermoto Junkie
I have recently found somone willing to sell their DRZ400s that they have converted to sm. The bike has about 5000 miles on it, said he used it primarily as a dirtbike on single track for a year, and the engine is bored out to over a 430. He is asking $3000. Is this a considerable deal? Some help would be much appreciated.

good front wheel stand for SMR? from Supermoto Junkie
Anyone found a good front wheel stand for the SMR? I tried one of the kind with the two bobbins but it’s a little too wobbly for my taste.Of course I prefer to use a mx stand, but since I’m running a belly pan that’s out of the picture. Need to get the front wheel up for tire warmers.
thanks!

Choices, Choices KTM/Husky from Supermoto Junkie
I am gonna pick up my 08 TE 510 this weekend, added power up kit, one tooth bigger up front, I sold my LC4 and my CRF250X to purchase this bike, I had narrowed it down to the KTM 690e ,, KTM 530 or the Husky TE610, am I getting the right bike, Between these 4 I do not think you can go wrong, I will be doing some off road and some road, I need a sight to purchase Graffics kit/ plastics, anyone know what warrenty comes on this bike, dealers says 6-months, I thought it was goona be a year, I already own a KTM 950 SM, but the SM wheel availablity is awesome for this bike, When I place SM wheels on this bike do I need to do suspension adjustments, I am no racer, just a hooligan around town, -
New rider from Supermoto Junkie
Hey guys,I have a couple questions. First I have been looking for a drz or wr250x for this season. This is obviously for street riding but then I recently I was thinking about maybe just riding on the track. I am a new rider, I can ride a motorcycle and have but I am NEW, I used to ride in the dirt a little (250 2 stroke).
Now would I be in way over my head doing something like the shanonville series in the beginner class? Approximatly how much do you guys spend in a season not including the purchase price of the bike? I figure gear to be about $1000 to $1500 for the minimum safety stuff and a used bike set up is most likely around 4000 to 4500.
I like the track idea because it would be a blast, insurance for the road in ontario is rude, and in my mind safer (controlled enviroment). I might not have the skill set though, thats why I am looking for your guys opinion.

recessed oil drain plug from Supermoto Junkie
I want to get my bike track ready and I’m trying to figure out what to do about the oil drain plug which is recessed. I’ve heard it’s possible, but I don’t want to attempt drilling this bolt for fear of damaging the threads.Do I replace it which the pre-drilled kind and safety wire? Mine is a Husky 450, anyone know a source for replacement bolts?
Or, do I just put a dab of silicone around edges of bolt (is this sufficient)?
thanks.

Supermoto Track Setup Advice from Supermoto Junkie
Looking to get some advice to help get Supermoto racing going in Bermuda. We have a well setup/run road racing and motocross circuits/associations here on the island but are looking for some advice on how to combine the two to get Supermoto racing going as well. Ideally we’d like to run it during the road racing season which is run spring to fall (through the summer). Both the road racing circuit and motocross track are right next door to each other so physically accessing both tracks shouldn’t be a problem. The motocross season is during the fall to spring time so the two tracks are not being used at the sametime.
The issue the road racing riders have is with the potential dirt that will be laid on the circuit which becomes a safety issue. Can someone give me some advice as to how to overcome this? Is there a way of stopping the dirt from spreading on the circuit or cleaning it off effectively between races? Does anyone know of any other dual prupose tracks that are used successfully for both Supermoto and road racing that we could get advice from? Thnx!

KTM Pro 50 Senior – Tires, Brakes and Clutch? from Supermoto Junkie
Just picked up a KTM pro Sr. for my daughter to race. It has the 12F/10R setup on it. I was going to get a 10" wheel for a Pro Jr. since they come with that but I wanted to make sure it will bolt right up. Does anyone know if this is a direct bolt up with the brakes and spacers and all? Also, the brakes on these things are rediculously small. 160mm front with an extremely small master cylinder and caliper. What sort of upgrades are available for these?
What sort of tires can go on the 10" wheels or do we need to upgrade to wider wheels? I dont think a set of Sava 10×3.50 tires will fit will they?
The clutch seems to engage very high in the RPM’s. I believe all that is adjusted in the shims right? How difficult is that to do?
