Deal on a KTM 640 SUMO
Anybody know anything about a 2001 KTM 640 SuperMoto. I found one for $3000, but don’t know anything about them. Is it a good bike, any specific issues? I was looking to buy a 625smc and found this. Any info would be great. -

Need help! Slipper clutch install
Ok, so I finally get my slipper clutch that has been on back order since Dec. Its an Adige/Adler HU-52 for my 08 SMR 450. I follow the directions and even look at the install video from the website. I take out the old clutch pack and put in the new one. Everything is good until I put the original pusher back in followed by the pressure plate. The new pressure plate has a bearing in it which will not fit over the front of the pusher shaft. I think I might have the wrong pressure plate, (God I hope not) but I’m not sure. Not only that but there is a large black concave & grooved washer that came with everything and there is no mention of it in the directions. I don’t know where it is suppose to go. Here are some pics of the pressure plate, 9 washers for the variable spring tention, the stock pusher,(which has its own washer between 2 flat washers) and the black washer. Someone please help me!!! -

Another n00b with a DRZ
Hi! New ‘tard rider here. I’ve got what seems to be the premier Playskool Starter Motard: yee DRZ. Specifically, one 2006 DRZ400S with OEM DRZ400SM wheels and front rotor sourced up inexpensively from a breaker. I pieced together the other essentials (41T rear, brake caliper bracket, etc.) and put it together a few Saturdays ago. What a great little ride! Yeah, it’s gutless but fun nevertheless.I’m looking forward to tuning the suspension and would like some tips as I have never dealt with anything but street bikes.

Husky 510 VS Aprilia 550
I’m sure there is a thread somewhere on this but so I apologize if there is.I’m looking to buy my first Motard soon and am deciding between the Aprilia and Husky.
I raced with CCS and WERA for 10 years, haven’t had a street legal bike in years.
This will be mostly for street riding, no long trips, just a little around town ripper (Wheelies and curb hopping a definite)
I’m sure the competitive bone in me will want to race it at some point but for now it is just for street.
So, given this information, let’s here what you would choose and why.
Thanks in advance.:bike:

‘08 SM610 power mod
OK guys, I tried a search, but I didnt find a clear answer.Got an ‘08 sm610 completely stock. From what I understand, the "power up" blocks the lambda sensor, and has a resistor that just plugs in and switches it to a different fuel map. Can this be done leaving an umodified factory can until the budget allows a slip on or full system? More importantly, can all of this be done by myself without taking the bike to a dealer? Some threads have said the dealer needs to remap with ibeat software. Why? I thought the whole point of the plug in resistor was to switch to a 2nd preprogrammed map? Or does this only change fuel map, and dealer needs to change ignition?

Who Here Is Riding The 450/510 As A StreetKiller?
As most know I’m about to get the 510smr and for the most part it’s going to be my hooligan bike for the street.1. How many of you are riding the 450/510 on the streets for the most part?
2. Also been reading the high maintenance with both bikes, does this mean frequent oil changes and valve checks and that’s it?
3. Are these bike reliable? I mean if they are pretty much track bikes with a headlight and on the streets you’re not beating nearly as hard on it as if you were to use it on the track, wouldn’t they be pretty reliable?
I’ve read how reliable the 610’s are but not so much the 450/510’s4. I haven’t read anywhere that someone regretted buy either bike and wish they would have went with the 610, but sometimes I wonder.
Any input would grately be appreciated, so I can ease my mind.

Just sold my 9R, Looking for a Motard…
Hi all,Just got on the site and have looked at a few bikes here that are for sale. I’m looking for some suggestions and pics of what I should look for.
I’m 6′1” and pushing 230 lbs… I’m trying to lose but fast food tastes too good…
Bikes I’ve looked at – WRX, DRZ, 510, and so on…
I’m also wondering what it takes to convert a dirt bike like a wr450 to street legal and if I should go that route.
I will be using it as a daily commuter, 8 miles each way… Not bad. Also something to run some twisties… Nothing too far…
Thanks,
Chet P. -

Heyo from Oz
Hey there,I’m from just outside Sydney in Australia. The whole Supermoto thing is pretty new to me as i’d always been a street bike kinda guy (except learning on the dirt as a kid..)
But a mate with a KTM640SM has me hooked! I’m looking to get a DRZ400SM or maybe E, as they seem to tick most boxes for me.
I’ve already picked up heaps on this site, so looking forward to sharing the tarding progression

Brake Caliper options for WARP9 Setup
What brake caliper and Master Cylinder options are there for the Warp 9 SM Rotor that is included with the Warp9 Wheel set? I recall something about a cheap brembo Master Cylinder that works but what about a good caliper upgrade that won’t cost an organ. This is going on a WR450…street toy, not a Race Bike.thanks,

Handlebar change-out
Picked up some windham bend pro-tapers for the DRZ and wanted to see if you guys have any must-do’s or don’ts? Any tricks? I got acerbis handguards too. How much bar end do I need to mount those? How do I get the thottle grip off? thanks ahead of time. -
Original DRC EDGE Tail light for my DRZ
Just wondering if you guys solder and heat shrink the wire connections or if what they give you in the package will suffice? I ride rain or shine. -
CRF 450 or SM 450R
I have an ‘07 SM610 and I’m looking to get into racing. Ok, let’s be real, I want to actually ride it on the street a little too.Ok.
CRF 450
or
SM 450R
I know they both require plenty of frequent maintenance, but I don’t know the pro’s and con’s of each – especially in reference to each other. I do know that I can get a plated 450 for less than $7k, and doubtful with the CRF – however maybe the CRF has a power/weight advantage or a more tunable engine, etc.
Any info would be great. Thanks.

New SuperMoto Fan
Hi All, I’m very new here (First post
) and would like to get into this SuperMoto stuff. I currently ride an 2005 Kawi 636 but would also like to get a dualsport/SuperMoto. I’m looking for 2001-2003 KTM EXC and plan to use this on the street and in the dirt with my kids. First off, is this bike a viable option for this? What would be a ballpark estimate for MPG on the road. I know it’s hard to say since it’s how you ride but what would be a min/max one would expect. I’ve seen some the of bikes on here and I’m stoked, I’ve got to get one
Any help leading me in the right direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks… -
Powroll MX125 SX, SM, FunX Exhaust
I have had some email correspondence with Pam F. at Powroll. If I can get together a group buy for at least 20 exhaust systems they will make and sell them. 20 is the minimum order for the tubing/machine shop. Please post here if you are seriously interested. The group buy will be for the SX, SM, and FunX models.
The slip on exhaust consist of the Supertrap muffler and mid-pipe.

I may be onto something (650L Speedo-drive)
When the day comes that I can finally motard my 650L I don’t want to cough up the money for a trailtech or similar, I want some alternative. I’ve been trying to find a way to use the stock speedo and I may have just figured it out. I was looking at the 650L parts diagrams and saw a part number for the speedo drive gear, it’s the same part as in the CRF230L. So onto my onto something, I haven’t found a parts diagram for the CRF230M yet but I bet I could get the speedo drive gear for that bike and put it in my L and have the speedometer read correct. We’ll see. First I need the 17’s for my 650L though.
