I Got major Cabin Fever with this bike Snow Storm. So, I put together a Best of Video from 2009. I did 6 SMJ Local Rides, from Deleware to South Carolina and inbetween. I have to thank all the fellas that put the rides together, the locations were great, and the people that came out to each ride were all stand-up Supermoto Junkies..... So check out the Video (it's a bit long, but plenty of good times) and see if you made the Best Of Film......:arsenal:thumbup:

http://www.motostrano.com/ufosucaca.html. The measures i need is the width, depth and length! So, if any of you can measure yours, i'll be glad! For those who wonder why, i'm going to make my own at school.

Beck600RR
Good afternoon! My name is Beck, I am new to this site and am the proud owner of an 06 DRZ400SM (her name is Rita) that I bought about 10 months ago. I have a previous history with sport bikes (have had a few 600RR's) and just recently transitioned over to the motard world.
I ride mostly on the track (Jennings, PBIR, and Homestead) as I live in the S. FL area. I also have an 08' CRF150R Big Wheel that I'm in the process of converting into a mini-moto for some of the karting tracks around here.
Anyway, being new to the Supermoto world, I would appreciate any advice or recommendations y'all have about mods for both the DRZ and the CRF. The only mods on the DRZ are a full yoshi pipe, flat side carb, and aesthetic improvements. Being that I ride the DRZ at regular track days that are generally filled with sport bikes, I'd like to do what I can to get the most out of my ride. A little more top end would be nice (especially for those dang straight-aways) but I know I'll be sacrificing a bit for this.
As I've said, any mod recommendations are welcomed (and explanations would help too!). I am very very uneducated when it comes to motards so have a lot to learn still.
Thanks guys!
Beck

I've searched and found little info on grooving and siping. The search results rarely come w/ pics. So post up pics of your grooving and or siping so I can get an idea. I know some folks say its a waste of time, but I'd still like to try it out and see. Any info/pics would be much appreciated. And after I do alittle testing I will post my findings and pics. Thanks

I'm curious as to what other owners of the 690 carry with them aside from the KTM supplied tool kit on a long ride. I was thinking of bringing tubes, tire iron, etc.

Ok so i am about to buy a DRZ400sm and i am not sure if i am going to go new or used yet.
If i go new i have about $2000.00 in parts that i want:
Yoshimura RS-2 Full Exhaust $440.00 Shipped (Ebay)
or
FMF Power Bomb Header $200.00 (Ebay)
FMF Power Core Slip on $255.00 (Ebay)
Twin Air Power Flow Kit $229.95 (Motostrano)
Keihin FCR MX 39MM Carb. $691.00 (Motostrano)
Jet Kit $60.00
Acerbis Dual Road Handguards $125.96 (Motostrano)
Blinker Light kit $26.96
Trail Tech X2 Model Specific Headlight $124.95 (Motostrano)
HID Kit For head light 8000k $125.00 (Ebay)
MOTOLED DRZ400 Edge-2 Tail Light (Red) $61.70 (Motostrano)
Kellerman Micro 1000 Turn Signal $35.10 Each x2 (Motostrano)
OR Go used and hopefully something will already be on the bike like exhaust and what nots but if i go used i will then want to refresh the top end so probly a 434cc big bore kit with hot cams and better valves.
my issue is with the big bore kit what carb would be better in the long run the 39mm or 41mm and how reliable is the bike with the big bore kit.
also is their any other mods that i might want to look into.
:headscrat
:hmmm:
im just not sure if i should drop 5800-6500 on a new one than another 2000 for stuff i want or just go used and spend like 3000-4000 and probly another 2000-2500 on parts.
Thanks

I was wondering for those that are stunting the 400sm what are the must haves? I got a crf50 to learn the basics on but am waiting for my new piston. So far it is completely stock except stronger cases and fork and swingarm sliders. Also, I only plan on keeping it around town or in lots, so I was wondering gearing as well.

What bike meets my requirements below.
My requirements
1. Must be a 2010 model
2. Has an upright riding position
3 Able to track day very well
4. Has a passenger seat and
5. Can handle traffic and hour long freeway commutes.
6. Not a Ducati
I have been looking at the 990 SuperDuke and the 990 Suppermoto R and T along with the SMC 690 SMC. To be honest I have no idea which one meets my requirements and the local sales folks do not seen to be much help.
Also though about putting the Spegiler riser bar kit on my 750 but not sure that is a good way to go.
Just an fyi I have 25+ year of track and dirt experience and I am currently track daying a 2008 GSX-R750 in full track setup including Penske suspension.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me and I have been getting so much conflicting info I am throughly confused. Hoping you guys can set me straight.

Hey all, I'm a supermoto noob who wants to get some practice at the track this season and eventually race in the future. I noticed in another thread that you're looking for flaggers, scorekeepers, etc. so maybe I can help out with those things to get familiar with the organization. I would greatly appreciated any advice or guidance on how to get involved!
And thank you SuperMotoFlunkie for referring me to this forum. You rock!

Alright guys I just got my motor back from the shop and they installed an intake and exhaust hot cam. Now I also bought a full pro circuit t4 exhaust foe the bike and I'm running a k&n air filter with outerwares. My elevation is 1500 feet. I'm looking to break the motor in and not be running lean. Also this bike is goin to be street legal so idk if I should jet a little on the rich side. Thank you

Hey Guys,
Just bought a 97 XR100 for a couple hundred bucks...........pretty ugly but hey its whatever.
The bike is for a girl, so Im wanting to refurb it and make it a little more pretty. Thinking of going to the CRF100 body but unsure if its a direct bolt on or if Id need to chop and weld the crap out of everything to make it work. That would be lame.
So, If anyone has converted, please let me know. Im planning on completely rebuilding this thing and Id love some tips to upgrades. Better swingers (CR85???) Better front end (CR85???) I know that there is a cr85 to 100 engine conversion but Id rather just buy a CR125 or something for her when appropriate. Building a cool 100 is good enough.
Oh and is meir (sp?) the only source of pink goods? Ive been told several times that their quality is sketch at best as far as fitment.
Oh and by the way...........anyone wanna help me pick an affordable rim selection. Will need new hoops and hubs to go motard or keep stock but at least change the color. Its a hundo.........cant spend a grand for a bike I bought for 350
Help a brother out?

Hey guys,
I found a pretty good deal on a bell moto 8 helmet online on closeout but cannot find any locally to try on/test. Supposedly it has some good ventilation and visor design which I think might be decent on the road but can anyone please confirm or deny that? I also tried on an xd3 and loved it but the cheapest one I could find is about 350. Is this a good deal? What have some of you paid? If you don't mind saying. I apologize for my lack of current helmet knowledge I have been wearing the same hjc for about the past 5 years and feel out of the loop, so if anyone could give me any insight on the two please comment. Thanks again
